Ask and you shall receive....

My friend, Lynn and I had this discussion last night. (our calls always end up being 5 or more hrs long). How many people know how to pray? I learned from a recent talk with my pastor that the way we pray can have an effect on what happens. When it comes to prayer we can become selfish, asking God to furnish what we want. We disregard what God wants for us. That is the important part of praying. We should always pray for God to give us what he feels we need not what we want. I look back on all the praying I have done and see that it was all about what I wanted. Needless to say I got what I wanted...but it didn't work because it wasnt what was intended for me. It is very true when they say be careful what you ask for. Ask and you shall receive, we all need to be careful on what we ask for and always pray that God will give what he wants us to have.

And all things, whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive- Matthew 21:22
